The DSCSS30 siren will operate outdoors but it is not designed to have                                                                                                                                  
moisture on it. Also, why have a siren flapping in the breez to have                                                                                                                                    
the cables cut. So we have this steel box, with louvers to allow air                                                                                                                                    
in and no water. Siren mounts inside. Optional tamper switch can be                                                                                                                                     
attatched to the unit such that if the cabinet is openned the alarm                                                                                                                                     
will trigger. Box is gray.
